More emergency grants issued

28 Apr 2020

In partnership with BLCF and other founders, we have awarded 8 more grants through the Bedfordshire Coronavirus Emergency Fund.

A grant covering core costs and rent means Bedford Counselling & Training can afford to continue offering their services virtually. Likewise, FACES have received a grant to enable the continuation of their services to families many of whom have been adversely affected by the pandemic.

Demand for Project 41’s befriending service has significantly increased. Our grant will help cover the costs of an administrator to run and manage this vital service for vulnerable and isolated people.

Funding awarded to Link to Change will provide the necessary equipment to remotely support young people at risk during this period.

The Kings Arms Project had funding for PPE equipment and staff to help homeless people stay safe, enable self isolation and take part in training in a variety of shared temporary accommodation across the town.

Similar funding was offered to Smart CJS who are also working with homeless people placed in temporary accommodation.

A grant to Bedford Samaritans means they can purchase headsets for volunteers to meet the increased demand for their services. safely

Finally, YMCA Bedfordshire received a grant to help provide fresh food to those most in need over this time.
