On Wednesday 2nd May, the Trust hosted an information evening for professionals from an array of industries, interested in supporting the charity by becoming a trustee or committee member.
Dozens of people responded to the adverts placed in local publications and on our social media sites, and to the invitations distributed to local businesses. Around 35 people attended the event which was held at Bedford Academy, part of the HEART Academies Trust and sponsored by The Harpur Trust.
In addition to watching a presentation by Chief Executive David Russell, and Chairman Murray Stewart, delegates were able to mingle over refreshments provided by the chefs at the school, and to meet with members of the Board to find out more about what is involved.
The Trust has an array of committees working across it’s four schools, and looking after the work of the charity itself and we were delighted to have so many people express interest in joining us.
Trustees will meet next month to look at applications and identify skills gaps now and those likely to arise in the future.
