How to apply

We are no longer taking applications for places at Harpur House or Randalls Close as this accommodation will be replaced with purpose built new accommodation by 2018.

We are taking applications for the three extra care schemes to which we have nomination rights, Dame Alice Court (Anchor), Sir William Harpur House (bpha) and Oak Way House (Bedford Citizens Housing Association).  To apply for any of these three schemes you will need to have a care need.  If you receive Disability Living Allowance, Attendance Allowance or Personal Independence Payment you are assumed to have a care need.  If you don’t receive any of these benefits, consider whether you struggle to manage everyday activities like washing, dressing, cleaning, shopping, preparing food and staying safe in your home.  If you need help with tasks like this you may have a care need.

You can also register your interest in our new scheme at the Wixams, although we won’t be processing applications until nearer the opening date. Applications for the ExtraCare village at the Wixams can be considered for people either with or without care needs.

Find out how to apply for the different schemes below.

Wixams ExtraCare Charitable Trust Village

These 1 & 2 bedroom apartments won’t be available until 2018/19, so we are not taking applications yet. However, you can register you interest in our almshouses at the Wixams so that we send you application forms as soon as they are available. To do so, please phone the Community Programmes Director on 01234 369500.

We will be putting more information about the new almshouses on our website as building gets underway. In the meantime, you can find out more about our partners ExtraCare Charitable Trust, who will be building and managing the new almshouses by clicking on this link to their website http://www.extracare.org.uk/wixams-village/ .
